Potato recipe?

I've just peeled some, cut them into thin strips, and fried them in very hot oil. Has anyone else tried this?Potato recipe?
yup they are called french friesPotato recipe?
Yes over here we call them crisps. If you're in America, chips. Well done for this discovery.
yes. Other people have tried this. If you mean you cut them into something like a julienne, then they are called shoestring potatoes and I've bought them at the store.
no but i have been wondering wot to do wit potatoes tonight....i have chicken with a southern fried coating and some salad...but want something different then chips....also my kids r very fussy so i need to do somthing simple...have u any ideas
Not strips but medallions. Fry a little bacon (break up) and add it with some sauteed onion, kosher salt , minced garlic, black pepper, and parsley.

You can add these ingredients to your strips.
Yes - we call them crisps!
Not really. I use an over the counter shakin powder then toss them in the oven.
Blimey, what a revelation. I think you have just invented chips. You should get onto the Patent office. Pronto.

ps. thanks D Dickerman!
Why didn't I think think of this idea?(would have made a million marketing it.Jeez you beat me to a money making idea.
yes it is a french fry
crisps come to mind.
LOL @ Beanie. I loved your answer!
waw! clever you
No but as you have cut them into thin strips, these would absorb more fat.Not good for you at all.
So you've discovered CRISPS!

Hmmmm! A millionaire I don't think you will be!
Its french fries, or shoestrings. You can also make it by using less oil by first coating the sliced potatoes with non-stick spray oil and then baking them in a oven tray in a preheated oven at 400 deg for 20 to 30 minutes. Remember to not add salt until you take the fried potatoes from the oven. Mine came out yummy and i was not feeling guilty of eating french fries this time as it didnt consume much oil.
