Im not that crash hot in the kitchen can I have a foolproof or should I say idiotproof recipe for potato bake.
TIAPotato bake....recipe please?
4 potatoes, sliced
diced bacon
1 oninon diced
300 ml cream
grated cheese
in greased ovenproof dish, spread layer of potatoes over the base
add layers of diced onion, bacon, cream and handful of cheese
continue until the dish is full, finishing with generous layer of cheese ontop
cook in a moderate oven until potatoes are soft and top is golden brown
If top browns too qucikly put tinfoil over the top
you can also add pumpkin, tomatoe, eggplant or zucchini to this recipie.Potato bake....recipe please?
**The Bestest %26amp; Easiest Tater-Tot Casserole**
';I make this all the time for my kids';...
1- 1 1/2 pkg. tater tots (just enough to completely fill in a single layer of the bottom of a baking pan, not cookie sheet!! Also depending on size of your baking pan)
1 can corn
2 Lg. can (about 14-15oz.) cream of mushroom (family size)
1 bunch green onions, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
2-3lb. ground beef
black pepper %26amp; salt/seasoned salt (optional)
Cheese - of your choice (I use the pre-shredded Kraft mexican cheese)
directions:
Preheat oven to the directed heat for tater-tots
1.) Add ground beef to a deep skillet or pot with the onions. Season with pepper and salt or seasoned salt until fully cooked then add the corn. Cook for about 5 minutes on medium (just to soften up the corn a little) then drain oil completely. Return to stove and add the green onions. Stir then add the cream of mushroom to the ground beef mixture until fully incorporated and heated then set aside.
2.) Place the tater tots in a single layer in a baking pan. You may add extra for a thicker base which I do. Put it in the oven and bake only for about 15 minutes. Don't fully bake the tater tots through. You want it to be ';AL-DENTE'; or half baked.
3.) Once tater tots are ready, spread the ground beef mixture evenly atop the tater tots. Shake it a little to allow it to seep through the crevices of the tater tots. Spread the shredded cheese evenly across the top of the casserole and cover with foil. Allow to bake just until the cheese has melted then turn off.
4.) Let cool for about 15 minutes so the casserole can settle and enjoy!! Wha-La!!
HASH BROWN CASSEROLE
2 lbs. frozen hash browns, thawed
8 oz. sour cream
2 cans Cream of Potato (or celery( soup
8 oz. shredded cheese (any kind you like)
1 onion, chopped
parmesan cheese
Mix first 5 ingredients together in large bowl. Pour into buttered dish (I use 9x13'; pan) and sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Bake at 300 for 1-1/2 hours
Serves 8-10
Very easy and really good
if you want to bake potato in the oven, try to get organic potaoes (so that you can eat the skin as well). rinse the skin, pat dry, I usually wrap then in aluminum foil, and cook them about 1 hour or so in a 375 degree oven.
to find out if they are cooked through, take a knife go through it, if the knife comes out and is hot, u know it's done.
If your asking about a baked potato.
Preheat oven to 400.
Wash the potato and cut out any eyes that are on them.
Wrap potato in alum foil and place on cookie sheet.
About 45 minutes later stick a fork into the potato and if the fork pushs thru to the center really easy the potato is done.
If not repeat every 20 minutes till potato is done
For a family size
6 washed n peeled potatoes sliced thinly
1 onion sliced thinly
handful of chopped bacon
chopped shallots
cup of cheese
cream
In a baking dish I layer potatoes and onions
I zap them in the microwave for 10 mins
Then I throw on top the rest of the ingredients
Put in the oven 180 degrees cel for 20-30 mins
